Established in 1982, the World Taekwondo Academy has dedicated itself to cultivating leaders with both expertise and moral integrity, aiming to propagate the essence and skills of Taekwondo worldwide. The academy has instituted comprehensive training programs tailored to develop exemplary leaders across various sectors and disciplines, including education for masters and officials (international masters, masters for para education , Gyeorugi and Poomsae referees, as well as World Taekwondo Hanmadang referees).

In 2008, the academy initiated a specialized Taekwondo master education course for individuals with disabilities, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and non-discriminatory educational principles.

Of particular note is the academy's focus on shaping leaders who contribute not only to their nations but also to society as a whole. Through ongoing professional development initiatives, Taekwondo instructors are empowered to fulfill their potential as leaders at both national and societal levels.

With over 140,000 leaders trained through these educational initiatives, the academy's graduates not only impart knowledge to the next generation but also demonstrate leadership qualities in their roles as national and societal influencers, embodying the ethos of Taekwondo.
