Taekwondo Poom / Dan Examiner Course

1. OBJECTIVE

The objective is to set standards for Examiner qualifications for the Poom·Dan Promotion Test, oversee the administration of the test, and ensure fair and effective judgment in accordance with Promotion Test regulations.

2. GENERAL INFORMATION

1) Overview of the Examiner for Poom·Dan Promotion Examiner Course.

2) Purpose:

  • -To enhance fairness in promotion evaluations and foster the development of Taekwondo skills by selecting committee members through stringent testing. This includes providing Taekwondo masters with instruction on regulations, scorekeeping, and Poomsae promotion practice.

3) Goals:

  • -Acquire knowledge on scorekeeping.
  • -Foster a sense of duty and enhance the quality of examination committee.

4) Duration:

  • -3 days, 24 hours (8 hours per day).

5) Curriculum:

  • -The Examiner Course is a 24-hour program covering a diverse array of topics, divided into two main themes: Taekwondo Theories (comprising rules and regulations for the Promotion Test) and Practical Training (including Methods of Judging and Poomsae).

3. PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY

Qualification Course (Certified)

1) 1st Class Course

  • -Individuals holding a Kukkiwon 8th Dan Certificate with a 2nd Class Master Certificate, or individuals holding a Kukkiwon 9th Dan Certificate and Master Certificate (issued before 1996).

2) 2nd class Course

  • -Individuals holding the Kukkiwon 6th Dan with a 2nd Class Master Certificate.

3) 3rd class Course

  • -Individuals holding the Kukkiwon 4th Dan (at least 21 years old) with permanent residence or citizenship in their residing country, along with a 3rd Class Master Certificate.

Refresher Course

  • -Holders of Examiner certificates seeking to update their knowledge with new techniques and regulations for the Promotion Test.
